Originally from the Chicago Suburbs, Nathan's interest interest in the law started and grew during his time as a member of his high school's Mock Trial team.
Nathan attended Ripon College where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a major in History and a minor in Law & Society. Seeking to contribute to the growth of opportunities and knowledge to his fellow students, Nathan was considerably involved in leadership positions in student organizations. During his time at Ripon College, Nathan was blessed with the opportunity to conduct undergraduate research regarding to what extent the impact of race and having prior experiences affected one's perception of America's legal system, and presenting his findings at a statewide dual disciplinary conference in Wisconsin.
Upon graduation, Nathan's hard work and dedication was acknowledged by his admittance into the Ripon College Laurel Honor Society, which membership is a mark of distinction and given to students who exemplify personal integrity and service. Nathan was nominated by Ripon College and was admitted into the national academic fraternity of Phi Beta Kappa Society, which is is the nation's oldest fraternity, and which recognizes select students' academic excellence in the liberal arts and sciences.
Nathan was admitted to Northern Illinois University's College of Law in 2014. Nathan continued to be involved in improving and offering opportunites to student life through his involvement and leadership in student organizations while remaining committed to his studies. Nathan participated in an internship with a Winnebago County judge, was a staff intern for judges in Kendall County, and volunteered his time at a local homeless shelter by helping gather information in the hopes to help connect indigent residents with civil legal assistance. Nathan also completed a semester externship with NIU's Health Advocacy Clinic, where he participated in a medical-legal partnership with the College of Law, Hesed House (the largest homeless shelter outside of Chicago in Illinois), and Aunt Martha's Health Services. While there, to assist residents in applying for Social Security Disability (SSDI). Nathan also participated in the ABA/JMLS 27th National Criminal Justice Trial Competition.
Since graduating law school and passing the Illinois Bar Exam, Nathan has served as a prosecutor in DeKalb, Macon, and Rock Island Counties, where he prosecuted traffic and misdemeanor offenses, DUIs, and felonies.
